Does Your Roof Need to Be Replaced?

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to roofing. During an inspection, our estimators document what they find and explain their recommendations. Here are a few factors that may help determine whether a repair or full replacement makes the most sense for your home.

A Repair May Make Sense When

  • Damage is isolated to a specific area.
  • The majority of the roof is still performing well.
  • The roof is relatively young and otherwise in good condition.

A Replacement May Make Sense When

  • Problems or damage are widespread.
  • The roof is approaching the end of its useful life.
  • Continued repairs are no longer the most practical long-term solution.

The right answer depends on your roof, not a predetermined sales recommendation. A thorough inspection allows us to evaluate its condition and explain the options available to you.

What to Expect From Your Roof Replacement

From your first conversation to the final walkthrough, here’s what you can expect when replacing your roof with Newman.

Step 1

The Initial Consultation

It Starts With a Conversation, Not a Sales Pitch

Our process begins by listening to your needs, concerns, and goals. From there, we’ll schedule a complimentary on-site consultation so our team can take a closer look at your roof and help you understand the next step.

Step 2

Understanding Your Roof

Clear Answers Start With a Thorough Inspection

During your on-site consultation, we’ll inspect your roof to better understand its condition and any areas of concern. We’ll document what we find, answer your questions, and explain our recommendations so you understand what your roof needs before making a decision.

Step 3

Plan Your Project

Options Built Around Your Home

We’ll walk you through your estimate and explain the roofing systems and options available for your home. From comparing shingle samples against your exterior to visiting our office to look through samples, our team is here to help you choose a roof that fits your home, preferences, and needs.

Step 4

Protect & Prepare

Protecting Your Property and the People on It

Before installation begins, we prepare your property with the same care we would want for our own homes. Catch-All systems, tarps, and plywood protection are used where needed to help protect landscaping, windows, doors, and areas surrounding your home.

Safety is just as important. Our job supervisors complete daily safety checklists to help ensure our crews follow Newman safety standards throughout your project. Safety is one area in the roofing industry where costs can be cut, but at Newman Roofing that is not an option.

Step 5

Remove & Inspect

What We Find Beneath the Shingles Matters

Once the existing roofing materials are removed, we can fully inspect the roof deck and identify conditions that weren’t visible before tear-off. A new roofing system depends on a solid foundation, so we’ll address any decking concerns before the new system is installed.

Remove & Inspect

Step 6

Install Your New Roof

Built From the Bottom Up

With the roof deck prepared, our team installs the components of your new roofing system with attention to the details that help it perform as intended. Your on-site job supervisor oversees the installation and helps ensure the work meets Newman standards from start to finish.

Step 7

Cleanup & Follow Through

Finishing With the Same Care We Started With

Once installation is complete, our crews clean the gutters and use magnetic sweepers around the property to collect loose nails and other magnetic debris. Decks, patios, and driveways are blown off as part of our cleanup process, with the goal of leaving your property as clean, or cleaner than, when we arrived.

Before we consider the project complete, our on-site supervisor reviews the finished work to make sure it meets our quality standards and that nothing has been overlooked.

More Than New Shingles

The shingles may be what you notice first, but they are only one part of the roofing system protecting your home. The materials beneath the shingles, the condition of your roof deck, ventilation, and finishing details all work together to help manage water and support the performance of your roof over time.

A Strong Foundation

Your roof deck is the foundation that the rest of your roofing system is installed on. Its condition matters because damaged or deteriorated decking can affect the stability of the materials above it.

Protection You Don’t See

Underlayment and water-protection materials provide an additional layer of defense beneath your shingles. These components are especially important around areas of the roof that can be more vulnerable to water.

Ventilation Matters

Proper attic ventilation helps manage heat and moisture buildup, which can affect both your roofing system and the space beneath it.

Details That Help Keep Water Out

Some of the most important parts of a roof are also some of the easiest to overlook. Flashing and other finishing components help protect areas where water is more likely to enter, including roof transitions and penetrations.

A Warranty Built Around Standing Behind Our Work

A new roof is a long-term investment in your home, and our responsibility shouldn’t end when installation is complete. That’s why every Newman roof is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, giving you added confidence in the installation of your roof for the life of the shingle.

Our workmanship warranty is provided directly by Newman Roofing and is separate from the manufacturer’s warranty that protects your roofing materials. If an installation-related issue occurs, you know who to call and can expect our team to be there to help.

Lifetime Workmanship Coverage

We stand behind the workmanship of your roof for the life of the shingle, not just the first few years after installation.

A Prompt Response

Our team takes pride in our quick response to any potential warranty issues. In most circumstances, our team is out to complete an inspection of the area in 1-2 business days.

Protection Beyond the Roof

If a covered installation issue results in a leak, Newman will correct the roofing issue and cover resulting paint and drywall damage. Our workmanship warranty can also be transferred twice over the life of the roof.
